On December 11, 2025, St. Mary’s University held a half‑day orientation program at the Chamber Room of its Main Campus, organized by the Human Resource Management Office. The session was designed to acquaint newly hired employees with the university’s guiding principles—its vision, mission, strategic goals, and core values—ensuring that they are well‑prepared to align their contributions with the institution’s long‑term objectives.
The gathering opened with a warm address from W/ro Sintayehu Birhane, Director of the Human Resource Management Office. In her remarks, she offered a broad introduction to the university’s background, organizational framework, leadership system, and administrative practices. She also outlined key human resource policies, including regulations on working hours, overtime, holidays, standards of professional conduct, and other workplace expectations.

W/ro Sintayehu underscored the indispensable role each staff member plays in advancing the university’s achievements. She highlighted the importance of discipline, cooperation, and collective effort, while reminding participants that institutional guidelines are readily available to support them in understanding their responsibilities.
The program concluded with an interactive discussion, giving attendees the opportunity to share perspectives, raise questions, and seek further clarification on matters of interest.
