St. Mary’s University Office of the VP for Business & Administration organized a brainstorming session on January 17, 2026, at the Main Campus Syndicate Room. The program brought together top management members, heads, and directors from various offices, creating a platform for collective reflection and dialogue. The session was facilitated by Ato Desalegn Berie, Vice President, Business & Administration Office, who guided participants through an in-depth discussion on the implementation of key management guidelines.

The meeting was designed to serve as a space for sharing information, exchanging ideas, and strengthening understanding of essential administrative principles. Its purpose was to remind current leaders of critical guidelines, ensure new leaders grasp their responsibilities, and encourage all participants to reflect on their performance. The discussions emphasized the importance of identifying unavoidable issues, fostering accountability, and reinforcing the expectations placed upon leadership.

Central to the session was the presentation of the Labor Management Guide, which highlighted crucial aspects such as types and methods of employment, responsibilities in hiring, competition systems, performance evaluation, promotion and transfer procedures, separation processes, benefits, and permits. Alongside this, participants examined the Customer Service Delivery Guidelines, focusing on definitions, sources of customers, service delivery methods, employee readiness, and complaint handling mechanisms.

The session also addressed the Free Education Opportunity Guidelines, which outlined training levels, rules and standards, support systems, obligations, and conditions under which opportunities are granted. In addition, the Employee Disciplinary Code was presented, covering its objectives, scope, committee responsibilities, disciplinary actions and consequences, decision-making bodies, complaint submission procedures, and timelines for investigation and resolution.

The discussions further revisited the 2018 revised organizational structure, vision, mission, and core values, ensuring alignment with personnel management, customer service, education provision, and disciplinary regulations.

Following the presentations, participants engaged in a lively and constructive dialogue, seeking clarifications, sharing perspectives, and receiving detailed explanations on key concepts.
