St. Mary’s University (SMU) and Woreda 10 Administration Office have agreed to collaborate on various community service projects in a formal and structured manner. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 20, 2023, at the Syndicate Room of the University.
The MoU was the result of previous discussions between the top management of SMU and Woreda 10 leaders on how to make SMU’s community service provision more sustainable and impactful. The MoU outlines the areas of collaboration, such as human resource capacity building, job creation, supporting the needy and elderly, and other current demands that may arise.
The two delegates emphasized that the community service should be need-based and expressed their hope that this valuable agreement would have a significant role in terms of understanding the areas where the two institutions could engage.
The MoU was signed by Wondwosen Tamrat (Ph.D.), President of SMU, and Ato Belay Koye, CEO of the Woreda 10 Administration Office.
The event was culminated with the visit of the Woreda Administration Office delegates to the American Corner.
