Different clubs of Saint Mary’s University have conducted orientations to new members for five consecutive days from October 31 to November 4, 2022 at the undergraduate campus. The series of orientation was organized by the Student Wellness and Success Unit.    

Elias Getaye, Head of Student Wellness and Success Unit welcomed participants and made introductory remarks to the program. He explained that the purpose of the orientation was to inform new club members about the overall activities, vision, mission, values, rules, and regulations, benefits as well as the clubs’ organizational structure.  

Five clubs are actively operating to serve students as platforms for improving their soft skills. These include Charity, Speech & Debate, Literature and Entertainment, Art and Book. These clubs intend to develop students’ teamwork with problem solving skills that would support the efforts of the University by way of enabling students get equipped with additional knowledge besides their academic development in their respective fields of studies.   

A total number of 1258 new members joined different clubs during the registration which lasts from October 24 to October 28, 2022.
