ICT Exhibition Held

The Computer Science Department of St. Mary’s University organized an ICT Exhibition which showcased students’ creative ICT products from May 10-12, 2022, at the Undergraduate Campus, St. Mary’s University.

The aim of the event was to create a platform for students to translate the theories they learned in the classroom into practice. It also allowed them to promote themselves and their products by creating opportunities for exposure to potential buyers and employers.

The exhibition was opened by Ato Tedla Haile, Executive Vice President of St. Mary’s University. At the exhibition, 3rd and 4th year students of Computer Science Department displayed the software applications they developed during the course of their stay at the University.

Some organizations came to visit the event to observe the products developed by the students. Among them were Information Network Security Agency (INSA), Dashen Kefita of Dashen Bank, Reach for Change (an international NGO which is currently partnering with SMU), and   IceAddis. Dashen Kefita of Dashen Bank and Reach for Change invited the students to apply for and compete at their respective institutions in competitions whose prizes amount up to 1million ETB. INSA, on the other hand, has promised to give training on Cyber Security for free.
