It is highly important for a country, as much as possible, to have healthy citizens, particularly, the youth, as it is a foundation for the working segment of a society that could guarantee development of a country in all aspects.

As the youth, in particular, is but found to be more involved in heterosexual relations, it has become the ideal target of any AIDS and STI prevention program. Cognizant of this fact, Anti-AIDS Movement, SMU, is working hard, as the University is one of the five universities given the responsibility by NASTAD Ethiopia, to commence the HIV/STI Program.

Consequently, Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office, SMU, together with Student Support and Services have organized Anti-AIDS Movement Forum in the University, so that the students and its community could become aware of the spread of HIV/ADS and get involved in the struggle against HIV/AIDS, the pandemic disease.
