Brief establishment history

Student Support Services Office at the graduate level was founded to maximize the students’ academic potential by recognizing its best practices and strategies.

Areas of responsibility

Student Support Services provides assistance at every stage of graduate education, whether the student is having technical problems or wondering how to succeed in an academic performance, in addition to its commitment in offering an intensive academic counseling and training to help students complete their studies successfully. The short-term training that the Office offers to the graduate students to enhance their academic skills include SPSS Software,Academic Writing Enhancement, Questionnaire Design, Exploratory Data Analysis,Basic Statistics for Researchers, Presentation Skills and Basic Research Writing. Moreover, the Office is responsible for coordinating thesis writing and following the progress of graduate students’ thesis writing. On top of that, the Program Office which schedules class and examination periods is under the administration of the SSS Office.

Past and current engagements

The Office has been engaged in offering guidance services and orientation to the new entrants, hearing students’ grievances and appeals,supporting and following students’ thesis writing and organizing policy, rules and regulations awareness sessions. Moreover, its Programming Unit ensures the smooth running of examinations and class schedules, coordinates election of class representatives, and follows up and facilitates the services for students. In addition, it ensures regular and periodic identification of needs and provision of training on research related topics, issuance of letters of cooperation requests for students doing their thesis, coordination of the dissemination of information about relevant workshops, seminars and scholarships and, coordination, and facilitation of the implementation of the activities of thesis writing.
